Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her early Broadway roles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. In You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she continues that award-winning work with several upcoming projects. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC as it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters into the first ever impeachment trial in the United States in more than a century. For two seasons, she played a prominent role in CBS's hit comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and now divides the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
